The store includes a Scottish section showcasing locally sourced products

Sainsbury’s new Edinburgh airport c-store is located before customers pass through security and will be open 24 hours a day to cater to arrivals and departures.

Customers can buy meal deals, in-store baked fresh bread and cakes, fruit and vegetables, meat and a Scottish section showcasing locally sourced products.

The store will also have a click-and-collect service, so customers can pick up online orders from Sainsbury’s, Habitat and Tu Clothing.

Sainsbury’s director of property, procurement and EV ventures Patrick Dunne said: “We’re very excited to launch Sainsbury’s Local in a whole new setting for the first time today with the opening of our Edinburgh airport store.

“We want to build on the resounding success of our other travel hub stores, for example in UK train stations, and we’ll be listening closely to feedback from customers in the coming weeks to learn more about what they want to see from this kind of Local.

“We then hope to bring Sainsbury’s unbeatable combination of outstanding value, quality food and great service to more airport locations in the UK.”
