Richard Pym steps up as Templeman exits
Car parts to cycles retailer Halfords has appointed Richard Pym as non-executive chairman, replacing Rob Templeman, who will step down at the end of the financial year on March 31.

Pym, who will take up the post on April 1, joined Halfords as senior independent director in May 2004. He is group chief executive of Alliance & Leicester.

A chartered accountant, Pym has extensive experience in both the financial services and retail industries, including roles with Thomson McLintock & Co, British Gas, BAT Industries and The Burton Group. Until August 2003, Pym was a non-executive director of Selfridges.
