THG, the retail group that owns premium beauty marketplace Lookfantastic, is set to launch an expert skincare destination on the website, Retail Week can reveal.
The expert skincare destination will launch on July 1, with the aim to “provide customers with comprehensive education, guidance and understanding for their skincare journey”.
The dermatological skincare hub, located on Lookfantastic’s website “is designed so customers can explore products tailored to their specific needs” including problems such as eczema-prone skin, acne and psoriasis.
THG said expert skincare makes up for over 30% of the total skin category on Lookfantastic and is growing ahead of the overall skincare market.
The launch will enable customers to book one-to-one, 30-minute consultations with in-house pharmacists as well as give them access to a new content-led affiliate programme where doctors, dermatologists and influencers will share advice.
THG chief executive for beauty Lucy Gorman said: “Consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the products they are using as part of their skincare regimen, so we want to ensure that they have access to all the information they need to make an informed product purchase which will work for them.
“We want Lookfantastic to become the go-to destination for expert skincare and education. With the launch of our skincare education home, we’ve worked really closely with our brand partners and our network of beauty professionals to create a place where consumers can come to discover educational content on all things skincare from ingredients to advice on routines and skincare concerns.”
