Bensons for Beds has opened more than a dozen new stores in less than a month following its purchase of doomed Carpetright locations.
The bed and mattress retailer has opened 15 new stores in the last three weeks and one of the locations returns to trading in Northern Ireland after four years away.
New openings include several of the stores it rescued during the collapse of Carpetright this summer. Bensons said saved 20 jobs by reopening the units and hired 50 more people.
New locations include Belfast, Aberdeen, Exeter and a high street format in Sutton.
Bensons for Beds chief executive Nick Collard said: “The scale of openings we have managed to take on in the last few weeks is unprecedented by us as a business and is a huge feat for any retail business, particularly in the current economic climate.
“Whilst market conditions have remained challenging, Bensons will be well placed to capitalise on a recovery in the market. This is all due to the continuing transformation of the business to become the leading bed specialist, offering expert advice and fantastic value for money, all going towards helping our customers get a great night’s sleep.
