Calverley joined the business in December 2018 and is part of the new management team that was put in place by Sturrock.

A former member of the senior teams at Unilever, Birds Eye and the AA, Calverley will officially take up the role of chief executive on May 12.

Sturrock will step down on that date “to take up a new external position”, Eve said, although it is not yet known where.
