Home Depot exits Beijing to focus on two other regions of China

US home improvement retailer Home Depot has exited the Beijing market after closing its last store in the city to focus on developing business in two other regions of China. It entered China in 2006 when it purchased a local chain called Homeway, but has since been forced to sell some of the 12 northeastern China stores it acquired after struggling to gain a standing in the market.
