Woolworths’ results slowed on deflation during its third quarter, growing 3.8% to AUS$14.1bn (£9.15bn). The retailers’ supermarket division experienced solid growth of 3.7% to AUS$12.2bn (£7.92bn), while the retailer’s non-food fascias had a mixed result. Consumer electronics fascia Dick Smith reported a 1.7% decline in sales to AUS$269m (£174.6m), although activity in New Zealand was positive. Big W reported a 1.4% sales increase, boosted by six new store openings. The home improvement division grew soared 29.4% and online sales rocketed 108%.
