Back Market is launching new innovations

During a conference in Paris, Back Market founder and chief executive Thibaud Hug de Larauze showcased the new product innovations, which are set to be implemented in the coming months.

A new quality standard for refurbished tech will be introduced where users will receive a one-year warranty, 30-day money-back guarantee and live online tech support.

The Shake to Trade-in tool will allow users in the app to shake their smartphone and immediately be shown the value of the device.

A new premium product tier will also be added that features lightly refurbished devices with a minimum 90% battery capacity.

Launching in 2025, a new AI comparison tool can be accessed for users who want to know the differences between product tiers and device features based on their needs.

Express replacement is also expected to arrive next year in the US and later across other markets.

This tool means that if a customer’s phone is faulty, a partner refurbisher will quickly ship a replacement device – even before the original is returned.

Since Back Market launched in 2014, it has accumulated 15 million global customers with nearly 30 million devices sold.
