The International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank is lending Ukrainian DIY business Nova Liniya US$5 million (£2.7 million) to open two 107,640 sq ft (10,000 sq m) stores in the capital Kiev.
The shops will complement the store group's existing 53,820 sq ft (5,000 sq m) Kiev outlet and will mirror the style of large western chains, such as Home Depot, Lowe's and Obi.
According to the IFC that means a 'wide range of high- quality home improvement products and specialised services at an affordable price'.
The IFC added that the outlets would boost local production of home improvement products and directly employ 300 workers.
The organisation will also help Nova Liniya meet international environmental and safety guidelines.
