Former Kingfisher executive George Adams has joined furniture retailer ScS as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
Adams, who spent 16 years at B&Q owner Kingfisher, will become chair of the ScS remuneration committee.
During his time at Kingfisher, Adams held several high-profile roles including chief executive of Europe development, group commercial director and commercial managing director for B&Q.
In his role with the DIY giant, Adams oversaw a huge rise in B&Q’s sales from £1.9bn to £3.5bn.
He has also held chief executive positions at Spicers Group and Maxeda DIY Group.
Adams said: “I am excited to be joining ScS at this time in their development, utilising my experience of retailing in many different markets.”
ScS chairman Alan Smith added: “I am delighted to welcome George to the board of ScS. George’s strong retail and consumer goods background will be of great value, and I look forward to his contribution.”
