Greggs workers have accepted a pay deal that sees them receive the biggest pay increase in 12 years.

Greggs Bucks

The Bakers Food and Allied Workers Union (BFAWU) said its members at Greggs have accepted the pay offer put to them by the company, following “lengthy negotiations” between the union and Greggs.

The deal means Greggs workers will receive a large pay increase well above the current Retail Price Index (RPI) levels.

Over the past two years, the union has negotiated wage increases of over 15% with Greggs, meaning every staff member has seen a rise in basic pay.

BFAWU general secretary Sarah Woolley said: “We are delighted that our members have accepted this offer that will give them much more ‘bread on the table’.

“I am incredibly proud of the work our union did to negotiate this above-inflation pay rise and very proud that in these past couple of years, our negotiators have helped put so much more money in the pockets of our members and every single Greggs worker across the UK during such a challenging economic period.

“This agreement really shows that unionised workers standing together, rise together and is a great example of what can be achieved if workers unite and work together. We, as a union, are proud to have delivered such a good deal for our members.”
