Sainsbury's has sold the long leasehold of its 54,000 sq ft (5,000 sq m) former store in High Street, Purley, to Oriental City, a Chinese supermarket operator that also owns the Oriental City Shopping Centre at Colindale, North London. Oriental City paid£1.7 million for the 99-year lease, which runs from March 25, 1979 at a peppercorn rent. GL Hearn advised Sainsbury's.
