Footwear retailer Schuh is ramping up its presence in London as it signs for three new stores in the capital.
The retailer, which already has a store near Oxford Circus, is set to open two more stores on London’s premier shopping street.
Schuh is opening a store in October in the former River Island unit on the west side of the street, after the fashion retailer relocated to the new Park House development opposite. The footwear retailer will also open a store adjacent to Primark at the east end of the street in early 2016.
Schuh, which is represented by Harper Dennis Hobbs in London, is also opening a 1,600sq ft store in the new Jubilee Mall extension in Canary Wharf.
The new openings will sit alongside Schuh’s recently opened stores in Kingston, Brent Cross, Wood Green and Watford in the London area.
Across the UK, Schuh is set to open 18 stores this year.
Schuh head of store operations Phil Whittle said: “As a retailer who started life in Scotland 32 years ago these three London signings form part of our wider five year strategy to increase our southern footprint and gain market share in the capital.
“Our customers have been telling us they want us to have more stores in the area for some time, and we are keen not to let them down - more will follow.”
The retailer also opened its first stand-alone retail park at the weekend, a dual fascia Schuh and Schuh Kids store in Glasgow Fort.
