Etail giant Amazon has extended its one-hour delivery service Prime Now to Newcastle, including Gateshead, Durham and Sunderland.
The delivery service, which launched for Prime members in London and Birmingham ealier in the year, offers one-hour delivery on 15,000 items such as Christmas gifts, including perfume and toys, as well as food products such as frozen pizzas, baking ingredients, chocolate and drinks.
Available through the Prime Now app, members can choose delivery within one hour for £6.99 or free delivery within a choice of two-hour or same-day slots between 8am and midnight, seven days a week.
Christopher North, managing director at Amazon.co.uk, said it has seen a “great response” from Prime Now customers in London and Birmingham. He added: “Weve seen high demand on everyone from essentials such as nappies and toiletires to must-have video games and toys.”
Amazon Prime costs £79 a year and customers can sign up for a 30-day free trial. It has currently slashed the price by £20 ahead of Black Friday.
