Home and fashion brand Laura Ashley has reported a 0.7% like-for-like increase in the 19 weeks to June 8.
Both fashion and home furnishings recorded like-for-like growth. A French language website was launched in April and the company said a German language site will be launched soon.
However total retail sales fell 0.9%.
Laura Ashley opened two shop-in-shops in Homebase stores this year, in Waltham Cross and Bishop Stortford. Three stores have been closed in Llanelli, Aberystwyth and Richmond during the same period.
Laura Ashley’s franchise business has grown by a net six stores since January 25, including five openings in Japan, four in South Korea and the closures of one store each in Taiwan, Belgium and Bulgaria. This takes the total to 292 shops in 31 countries.
