A Turkish retailer specialising in baby, children and family products is opening its first-ever UK store in North London, Retail Week can reveal.
Ebebek will be opening at the Wood Green Mall in North London, following the UK rollout of its ecommerce site in 2022.
The date for the opening is not yet known, but it forms part of Ebebek’s plan to expand its “vision and mission” in the UK.
The retailer’s product range includes baby milk, prams, clothing, footwear, toys, books and maternity items.
According to its website, Ebebek’s retail journey began in 2001 as a website before opening its first store in Turkey in 2003. It now has 254 stores in 67 cities across Turkey.
The retailer has a vision to reach six continents by 2030 to become a global family-oriented retailer, with its website being operational in several international markets through platforms such as Amazon and AliExpress.
Ebebek became a public company in Turkey in 2023 and its most recent financial results show that net profit for 2022 was TRY192m (£4.32m) and net profit in the first quarter of 2023 was TRY36m (£810,000).
Ebebek’s Wood Green opening follows the arrival of B&M, Wingstop, Puregym and Wendy’s over the summer.
