Wilko will open two new stores on Good Friday (March 29) as the retailer continues the rollout of its new concept.
The new stores will open at Unit 29 The Maltings in St Albans, as well as in the Parkgate shopping centre in Rotherham, with the first 50 customers being given an exclusive goody bag.
The stores will offer essentials including home and garden items, named and own-brand products, and customers can also browse and order from the 100,000 items available on the relaunched Wilko.com using the self-service terminals in-store.
Other former Wilko staples such as the National Lottery and pick-and-mix will be available in the stores, as well as 20% off all arts and crafts supplies for Easter.
The two sites are versions of the retailer’s new concept stores, after successful openings in Luton, Exeter and Plymouth before Christmas.
Another site at the Dolphin Centre in Poole will be opening soon, alongside more branches throughout the year.
Wilko is aiming to open around 300 stores in the UK under new owner Chris Dawson, who also owns The Range.
Ben Exall, chief digital officer at Wilko, said the group expects a “great turnout at the reopening from locals and visitors” at both Rotherham and St Albans.
