Home shopping group N Brown has delivered strong first-half results, with like-for-like sales up 10.6 per cent.
In the 26 weeks to August 25, revenue at the retailer, which has expanded its catalogue offer and product ranges, climbed 13.6 per cent to£290.6 million. Pre-tax profit was up 17.5 per cent to£34.3 million.
Current trading is also strong, and rose 11.2 per cent in the six weeks to October 6.
N Brown chief executive Alan White said: “We have expanded our existing catalogues and mid-season mailings and launched four new catalogues this year. There are huge opportunities to grow our internet sales as more and more customers shop online.”
N Brown’s fulfilment service Zendor has gone from being loss making last year to a small profit this year, with new contracts from Woolworths, Peacocks and Reiss hoped to push revenue ahead further.
This autumn, N Brown launched two catalogues; Marisota, which targets middle-aged women, and Jacamo, which offers exclusive brands in larger sizes for men.
