Aldi has become the first supermarket to launch an own-brand smartphone.
The discount food retailer is offering an own-brand Android handset in stores. It retails at £79.99, according to Marketing Week.
The phone, which follows the launch of Aldi’s tablet the Medion Lifetab, has 4GB interal storage and a camera.
Aldi has beaten Tesco by unveiling the smartphone now. Tesco is poised to launch its own device later this year through its Hudl brand, through which it has already launched a tablet.
