Argos has introduced a tracking tool that will provide the retailer with real-time visibility of their delivery drivers’ journeys to maximise supply-chain efficiency.
The electricals retailer has teamed up with retail technology supplier Microlise on the technology, which will allow the business to monitor its drivers’ journeys and estimated delivery times.
The tracking tool will be deployed across all of the Argos’ two-man UK home delivery vehicles and information on their journeys will be available to the business’s contact centre employees, enabling them to improve accuracy on customer queries and provide information on delays.
Delivery drivers will also be able to monitor their own journeys through the app, which will rate their proficiencies in areas including cruise control usage and speed.
Tracking changes
Head of home delivery Laurence Garnett said: “Delivering a positive customer experience is an absolute priority for us and customers tell us that being on time or informing them of any change is really important.
“We are constantly looking to new and innovative tools to help us improve our customer experience.
“Microlise will be a very powerful solution to help us further improve our high standards for on-time delivery as well as keep customers up-to-date with the very latest delivery information.”
