SuperGroup is implementing a new EPoS System across its 42 UK stores, which will aid with its ambitious growth plans.
The young fashion retailer, which runs Superdry and Cult stores, opted to implement the DigiPoS Dynamic Blade EPoS solution in June last year. It has been installed in 17 stores so far and will be rolled out across its remaining stores and concessions, including those planned for a 2010 opening.
The system was chosen to prevent unnecessary downtime being experienced with store tills, avoiding losing customers due to long queues.
SuperGroup IT manager Brad Ainslie said: “Although the former tills were robust and easy to use, SuperGroup found that when a single component went faulty the whole till had to be sent away to be repaired. The cost for the business to have a till down in a busy store over a busy period is difficult to evaluate, but losing customers due to long queues is not good to any retailer.”
He added: “The DigiPoS system has already in its short time surpassed the former tills.”
Since the system has been implemented, none of the hard drives have gone down.
The older tills were configured in-store, but the Dynamic Blade is easily configured off-site and then they can be plugged straight into the network. The technology also uses less electricity and the new stands take up a lot less space on the sales counter.
SuperGroup, which last month carried out a successful IPO, plans to open up to 20 new stores annually over the next five years.
