Axa Reim, owner of the Windsor Royal Shopping Centre at Windsor, Berkshire, is refocusing the tenant mix away from tourist retailers towards an aspirational fashion mix.
In the latest deal, the landlord has taken a surrender of the 695 sq ft (65 sq m) former East unit, and re-let it to Danish fashion brand CCDK for its third UK store.
Other fashion retailers in the scheme include Hobbs, French Connection, Jaeger and Phase Eight. At the same time, the landlord is addressing the food offer within the centre.
Carluccios has taken an assignment of the 3,265 sq ft (305 sq m) former Cafe Flo unit, and the former Peter Rabbit store has been taken by sandwich chain Eat.
'We are trying to create a more contemporary, fashion-oriented offer at Windsor, not unlike the mix we put together at St Christopher's place in St Albans,' said Tracey Pollard, director of letting agent Markham Vaughan Gillingham. She said that new fashion retailers contributed to a transformation at St Albans, where rents doubled from£45 to£90 Zone A in slightly more than a year.
