Finance director to leave value group
Instore group finance director Gary Brown is to leave the company to pursue other interests, which will allow him to spend more time with his family, the company announced today.

Brown will continue in his role until a suitable successor has been found and a managed transition has been completed.

In its most recent statement, Instore reported a 3.8 per cent like-for-like sales boost for the six weeks to January 15, with sales up 5.4 per cent at its core fascia and up 2 per cent at Poundstretcher. However, the value group slashed its profit forecasts after its operating budget overran because of overstaffing at its new warehouse at Christmas.

Earlier this month, former Past Times managing director Steve Cotter joined Instore as retail operations and property director. He left Past Times after a failed management buy-out early last year.
