A theft from a courier van in Bristol has resulted in the personal details of more than 34,000 Alliance Boots customers and staff being stolen.

Tapes containing data, including the bank account details of customers who belong to Boots Dental Plan were taken on April 3.

In a statement, Alliance Boots said that customers and banks had been informed immediately and said that it would be “technically complicated” to make use of the information without specialist IT equipment and software.
