Rent-to-own retailer BrightHouse has revealed another set of solid results for the six months to the end of September 2010.
Like-for-likes jumped 10.7% while total sales were up 15.6% to £109m at the retailer, which slles furniture and electricals.
EBITDA surged 16% to £17m.
BrightHouse opened 15 new stores in the period taking the store portfolio to 213 stores, and remain on track to open 30 stores during the financial year.
Chief executive Leo McKee said: “In this challenging retail environment, it is pleasing that BrightHouse again has delivered improved revenue, profit and customer numbers. Our market, serving low income families continues to be significantly underserved. Accordingly, demand for our products and services remains strong.
“We are fully engaged in optimising customer service throughout our peak trading period. Overall, trading year to date is in line with management expectations.”
It expects games consoles, smartphones and flat screen TVs to sell well over the festive period.
