Burberry has partnered with Google to launch ‘Burberry Kisses’, which allows users to capture and send their real kiss to anyone in the world.
The kiss recognition technology is hosted on a dedicated Burberry platform, kisses.Burberry.com, and allows Google Chrome and mobile users to share kisses using a desktop camera or direct lip contact on touch screen devices.
The journey of each kiss is then brought to life through personalised animation showing 3D city skylines from the sender to recipient’s location.
It brings together Google Earth and Street View technologies, alongside Burberry’s creative vision, and can be shared through Google+ and other social media platforms.
Burberry said the initiative is designed to “entertain and engage global audiences through personalised and beautifully-rendered content”.
Burberry chief creative officer Christopher Bailey said: “We are constantly thinking about how we translate the emotion of what we create and experience in the real world into the digital space.
“Burberry Kisses began with the idea of giving technology a bit of heart and soul, and using it to unite the Burberry family across the world – by telling a story that makes the digital personal.”
