Footwear business Dune Group has posted a slight increase in pre-tax profits from £6.42m to £6.47m for the year to January 29, 2011.
However, operating profit fell 19% from £6.8m to £5.5m, as sales fell from £124.2m to £118.7m for the 12 month period.
In accounts filed at Companies House, Dune said that despite the fall it was “confident that the company will perform strongly in the coming year despite the tough economic climate due to strong product ranges, new store openings and further ecommerce growth.”
Dune Group comprises the Dune chain and former Shoe Studio brands including Pied a Terre and Bertie.
During the year it opened Bertie stores in London, opened 49 concessions in department stores and launched young fashion brand Head over Heels.
