Golfing specialist American Golf has signed a deal for EPoS maintenance services with Esteem Managed Services.
The 91-store retailer, which processes an average of 2800 transactions per day, worth over £400,000, said it decided to outsource its EPoS system to cut down on costs and to allow its IT team to focus on their primary job functions.
Phil Barker, head of IT at American Golf, said the company recognised the need to outsource its EPoS support as 75 of its 91 stores in the UK only had one EPoS System. He added: “If this goes down the simple fact is we struggle to provide a satisfactory service to our customers.”
The Sun European-owned company saw turnover increase 5.3% to £86.6m for the year to January 2011, while pre-tax profit jumped from £696,000 to £2m over the period.
