Findel-owned sports specialist Kitbag will launch a click-and-collect store at The Ryder Cup in Gleneagles in September.
The retailer, which operates online and physical stores for sports teams and leagues including Manchester United and the NFL as well as The Ryder Cup, believes there is an opportunity to target a captive audience at sporting events.
Kitbag chief executive Andy Anson said: “The Ryder Cup at Gleneagles is the first time at a sporting event that we will be bringing together physical retail and ecommerce in a fully integrated manner.”
Kitbag will operate an ‘order anywhere, receive anywhere’ offer allowing shoppers to collect merchandise ordered before the event, order products at the event for delivery to their homes and, for corporate hospitality customers, orders can be delivered to their tables.
The retailer has teamed up with Micros to provide an Epos system that provides live reporting to help with stock replenishment.
