Department store retailer Morleys is opening its ninth store at a site previously occupied by collapsed retailer BHS.
The 50,000 sq ft store within the Broadway Shopping Centre in Bexleyheath is due to open in April.
Spanning two floors, it will include Morleys’ full range of fashion, beauty, home, gift and toy products, as well as both a café and a restaurant.
Morleys chief executive Bernard Dreesmann said: “We are confident that we can bring something new and fresh to the area”.
The Broadway Shopping Centre was acquired by NewRiver last April.
Its director, Nick Sewell, said: “We have worked closely with the council to secure a desirable new anchor store to replace the former BHS Store.
“Morleys department store will introduce an excellent, aspirational and high-quality retail offer for the centre and town centre, further enhancing the retail mix for our shoppers.”
The new shop follows Morleys’ recent redevelopment of its department and home store in Newbury, West Berkshire.
For the year ending January 2016, the group reported pre-tax profits of £8.5m and sales of £109m.
