Vida Capital Partners is confident of a strong 2010 as it ramps up its two retail businesses, etailer Ebuyer and kitchens retailer Wrens.
Ebuyer - which has sales of over £200m - stocks electricals mainly, and wants to grow by 10% this year, with a focus on additional product ranges and customer service.
Ebuyer stocks 19,000 branded and own-branded products and will up this offer. Operations director Armando Sanchez said new lines will include “more accessories and product attachments”.
Sanchez said: “Currently customers are buying a laptop, for example, and having to look elsewhere for accessories such as cases. By offering more in the way of accessories, it will make it easier for the customer and provide a one-stop shop for electrical products.”
Sanchez added that the etailer’s most significant recent development in customer service was the extension of its ordering cut-off times, from 10pm to 11pm, for next-day delivery.
He added: “We were a geeky cult place to shop and have loyal customers, but have worked to make the business more mainstream.”
Vida’s kitchens retailer Wrens began as a manufacturer and last year opened its first five showrooms. This year it plans to open a new store every two to three weeks across the country.
