Retail tycoon Sir Philip Green has signed a 15-year lease for a store on Broadway for Topshop's first New York store.
The shop is due to open in September next year, following an extensive rebuild and shopfit programme. Green dealt directly with Steve Roth, chairman and chief executive of Vornado, which owns the site.
Arcadia said additional conversations are continuing about several other international markets where Topshop is not represented.
Green said: “I am hopeful that this will be the start of our American development of the Topshop/Topman brands, with several further sites being considered.”
