Waitrose has partnered with Uber Eats to launch a grocery delivery service on the platform.
The retailer said the service will launch from five London locations and roll out to more than 200 areas UK-wide by the end of the summer.
The five London stores for the initial rollout are John Barnes in Finchley Road, West Hampstead, Clerkenwell, St Katharine Docks and Greenwich.
It will then roll out across more than 200 more stores, including shops in Wales and Scotland, by the end of August.
Customers will be able to access thousands of Waitrose products, including its Essential Waitrose range and premium ranges such as Waitrose No.1 and Duchy Organic.
Executive director for Waitrose James Bailey said: “We want more and more people to enjoy the quality and taste of Waitrose products as and when they want them.
“On-demand grocery shopping continues to grow in popularity with our customers and partnering with Uber Eats means we have even more flexibility to be there for them whenever they need us.”
Uber Eats said it had seen gross orders from supermarkets increase by nearly 60% in the first quarter of this year compared with last.
The partnership will sit alongside Waitrose’s existing delivery partnership with Deliveroo.
Uber Eats also partners with Sainsbury’s, Asda, the Co-op, Iceland and Morrisons Daily.
