French cosmetics giant Sephora is expanding deeper into the UK with a new store set to open in Liverpool.

Sephora is set to open a new store in Liverpool One in Spring 2025 as it continues its expansion in the UK. This will be the beauty giant’s eighth store in the UK after it returned to the country in March 2023.

The beauty retailer opened its first store outside London in Manchester’s Trafford Centre in May and announced two new stores in the North East at Newcastle’s Metrocentre and Eldon Square, as well as stores in Birmingham’s Bullring and Kent’s Bluewater shopping centre.

Sephora exited the British market in 2005 due to increased competition, but returned with its first bricks-and-mortar store at London’s Westfield White City in March 2023.

The beauty giant delivered double-digit growth despite parent group LVMH seeing a fall in sales and profit in the six months to June 30, 2024.

Sephora UK managing director Sarah Boyd said: “By the end of this year, we will have opened seven stores in five regions, and I’m thrilled to share that our regional expansion will continue in 2025, with the first new store opening of the year at Liverpool One.

“We have had immense demand from our fans in Liverpool to open a store in their city, and we are excited to open one in a city that embodies a remarkable energy and boasts a rich and vibrant history that resonates with our brand values.

“Liverpool has been a key location in our brand expansion plans, and we were prepared to wait for the right opportunity, which this prominent Liverpool One unit provides.

“As we prepare to welcome both new and existing customers, we are looking forward to creating a truly memorable and enchanting shopping experience at Liverpool One, in an exciting store format that reflects the spirit of the city.”
