Superdrug is launching its first ‘Super Weekend’ promotion today, giving away more than £1m worth of bonus points.
The value retailer is using the promotion to push its loyalty card scheme, Beautycard, launched in May, which has four million users.
Shoppers spending £30 in store will receive £10 worth of points in their Beautycard account.
Superdrug said a key driver for use of its loyalty card has been the ability to part-pay for products with points. The battle for loyalty is key for retailers in the tough climate as customers shop around more for bargains.
Beautycard typically offers shoppers one point for every £1 spent. The mirrored card doubles as a handbag compact mirror. Superdrug retailer said it wanted the card to become shoppers’ handbag essential.
