Ikea has promoted Mikael Ohlsson to chief executive of the furniture and homewares giant. He will replace Anders Dahlvig, who has been at the helm for 10 years.
Ohlsson, who has worked at Ikea for 30 years, will take up the position on September 1. At present he is regional manager for retail in southern Europe and North America, and he has been an executive of the group for 15 years.
Ohlsson said he expects Ikea to come under pressure this year and forecasts sales growth will fall to 3 per cent from 7 per cent last year.
