Ikea has rolled out new lower prices on thousands of products, with more to come by spring.
The home and furniture giant said the new lower prices would be available from today (11 January) and will span more than 1,500 products in its range, with more than 2,500 to be reduced by spring.
Ikea said the price reductions are a reaction to improved purchasing goods costs in 2023, following a period of tough inflation in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The retailer said the new prices would allow it to pass on over £100m in savings to customers on some of its most popular lines.
Among products with cheaper prices is the Malm furniture range, from which a chest of drawers has been reduced from £99 to £79, and a dressing table is now £89 down from £99; and Kallax storage cube units down to £115 from £150, with inserts dropping from £12 to £9.
Ikea UK and Ireland commerical manager Michaela Quinlan said: “By reducing the price of thousands of much-loved Ikea products, particularly at a time when cost-of-living pressures continue to affect so many, we’re staying true to our vision of creating a better everyday life at home.
“Keeping prices as low as possible is in our DNA and it’s a priority for us to do all we can to make our products affordable, sustainable and accessible to as many people as possible.”
