The Hut Group acquires Grow Gorgeous haircare brand
Etailer The Hut Group has snapped up a haircare brand sold in Boots and Selfridges in its latest phase of expansion in the online beauty market, according to Sky News.
The health and beauty company, whose shareholders include Lord Rose and Sir Terry Leahy, is understood to have acquired Grow Gorgeous from the Deciem beauty house in Canada.
Financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed. However, funding has come from existing cash reserves, sources said.
Amazon reportedly starts selling own-label clothing brands
Amazon has quietly started rolling out several private-label fashion brands, The Drum reported.
The etailer is now selling clothing lines through a number of its own trademarked brands, including Franklin Tailored, Franklin & Freeman, James & Erin, Lark & Ro, Society New York, North Eleven and Scout + Ro.
KeyBanc Capital analyst Ed Yruma commented: “Amazon will use private label selectively, which should both enhance the offering and induce traditional apparel vendors to sell to Amazon.”
