Dixons subsidiary Pixmania has signed a deal to develop an online non-food offer for French retail giant Carrefour.
Pixmania will use its E-merchant platform to build the site for Carrefour in several European countries.The site will offer a range of non-food products from Carrefour’s existing range plus am extended product range from Pixmania. The platform will also support a market place allowing Carrefour customers to access products from other merchants.
Pixmania already operates in 26 markets, and the E-merchant platform already supports the Currys, PC World and Dixons websites plus other clients outside the Dixons group such as Bouygues Telecom.
Carrefour CEO Lars Olofsson said “This new partnership marks a major step in the development of Carrefour’s multichannel strategy,” claiming it will offer “a flexible multi-channel shopping experience between our stores and the internet at the European level.”
