TK Maxx parent TJX opened its first HomeSense store in the UK at Poole last week.
HomeSense, which already operates in Canada, offers designer homewares at discounted prices. The 15,000 sq ft Poole store will be followed by openings this month in Cardiff, Bristol, Gloucester, Northampton and Manchester. Ranges include glassware, tableware, chairs, lighting, pictures, storage items and gardening products.
TJX Europe vice-president marketing director Deborah Dolce said: “We believe shoppers are hungry for a home concept that brings them both quality brands and value, and we have had huge success with it in Canada.”
