Australian storage solutions retailer Howards Storage World is to open its first UK store next month as it outlines plans for 50 shops in the next five years.

The retailer – which has 64 stores in Australia and 18 others internationally – has a projected turnover of about £50m in five years in the UK.

The franchise-led retailer’s first UK store is in The Centre, Livingston. It stocks 2,700 lines including kitchen storage boxes and wine stacking solutions. UK managing director Martin Brown said the format will succeed in the UK as “people have smaller homes than ever before, and need to manage their space better”.
