For the third quarter ending September 30, 2009, RadioShack reported a 3.1% decline in net sales to $990m (£606m).
Comparable same-store sales for company-operated stores and kiosks declined 2.9%, driven primarily by sales declines in digital-to-analog converter boxes, laptop computers, batteries, wireless accessories, and GPS products.
Operating income plummeted 18.3% to $69.4m (£42.5m), while net income fell by about 25% to $37.4m (£22.9m).
The retailer ended the period trading from about 4,470 company-operated stores in the US; almost 1,300 dealer outlets; more than 450 wireless phone kiosks throughout the US; and about 200 company-operated stores in Mexico.
