John Lewis scored 81 points, putting it in pole position, and Waitrose scored 80 points (out of a possible 100) - a ten point lead over any other retailer. The retailer's gained top marks for products, customer service, shopping experience and price.
Sir Stuart Hampson, chairman of the John Lewis Partnership - which consists of Waitrose and the eponymous department store chain - said: 'This is a tremendous accolade for every one of our 65,000 partners and our success is down to one key factor - the hard work and efforts of each one of our Partners.
