Event opened on Sunday with a catwalk presentation from Topshop Unique
Designers at Debenhams designer Julien Macdonald brought a touch of glamour to London Fashion Week this week with his collection of glamorous knitwear, spangly dresses and velvet leggings for autumn 07.

The event opened on Sunday with a catwalk presentation from Topshop Unique, the young fashion chain's premium range. Owner Sir Philip Green was in the front row at the show with his wife Tina and daughter Chloe to see reams of palazzo pants, wide belts and woollen blouses sashay down the catwalk. Topshop and its menswear equivalent, Topman, are the only high street retailers to show during the event.

US designer Marc Jacobs, who is showing at London Fashion Week for the first time, will close the event with a catwalk show of his Marc by Marc Jacobs collection this evening. Jacobs, who has spawned hundreds of catwalk copies on the high street, opened his first store in the UK in Mayfair, London today. Selfridges will also open a Marc by Marc Jacobs shop-in-shop next week.
