Womenswear chain Mango is set to double its internet sales in 2010, the 10th anniversary of its website, Mangoshop.com.
The Spanish retailer, whose product is also sold online in the UK via etailer Asos and in department stores John Lewis and House of Fraser, wants to double global turnover from 2009’s €11.7m (£9.7m).
In 2009, online sales rose 46% year on year to represent 1% of total turnover. In the first half of 2010, internet sales have continued to grow and were up 80% on the same period last year.
To coincide with the 10th anniversary of Mangoshop.com, which is accessible in Europe, the US, Canada, Japan, Turkey and China, Mango will relaunch the site with Web 2.0 technology, using new features such as a search engine, user reviews and social networking. It is set to extend the site to Russia and other Asian countries by the end of the year.
