The roof caved in at the Netto supermarket minutes before authorities received an emergency call at 11.26 am local time (10.26 GMT) today, according to a district official.
The roof fell onto the shelves of the supermarket, but employees were able to escape, a police spokesman said. There were no immediate reports of injuries. The cause has not been determined, although Bavaria experienced heavy snowfall overnight.
In the past month alone, 15 people were killed when the snow-covered roof of an ice rink collapsed in the Bavarian town of Bad Reichenhall, while two people were trapped after a roof at a Lidl store in the eastern Czech city of Ostrava collapsed under the weight of heavy snow.
In Katowice, Poland, 63 visitors were killed when an exhibition centre roof fell in during a trade fair last month. The day before, a Tesco store in Lodz had been evacuated over concerns about snow that had gathered on the roof, although it was subsequently given the all-clear.
