The new B&Q Warehouse format has been designed to provide a greater focus on a complete home improvement offer rather than just traditional DIY. It will stock a greater range of goods and display more 'inspirational room sets'.
A 25-strong specialist team has been recruited to offer on-hand advice on design and technical issues. The store has created 60 new jobs.
Wednesbury general manager Simon Cowey said: 'The new-look store is about more than DIY. The refurbishment will enable us to offer the complete home improvement service to people.'
As part of the first-day activities, DIY clinics and in-store demonstrations are running on subjects such as 'how to lay a laminate floor'.
