Holland & Barrett is launching click-and-collect and order in store across the next 12 months as it ramps up efforts to become an omnichannel retailer.
The health and beauty retailer plans to take advantage of its 750-strong UK store estate introducing click-and-collect in the next six months to tie up its online and offline offer.
Holland & Barrett marketing director Lysa Hardy said: “93% of the UK population live 10 minutes away from a store. We have seen a lot of growth online this year and it’s a really big opportunity for us.”
Hardy said it aims to install interactive screens in stores connected to the internet enabling customers to research products and eventually they will be able to order online in store. Hardy said this will be particularly useful in smaller stores, as customers will be able to have access to a wider range.
Hardy said it will also help boost sales of its healthy food offer, which it is extending significantly.
Holland & Barrett is currently expanding its store estate, having doubled its rate of openings in the past year to 65 and relocating stores to larger sites and from secondary to prime.
Holland & Barrett is also introducing more tactile interactivity in stores through its tea bar, which allows customers to try the tea before they buy, and aromatherapy oil pick and mix offer.
This comes after the retailer introduced whey shake bars and dried fruit and nut pick and mix to stores over the last two years.
