House of Fraser intends to begin trialling product videos on its website in the Autumn to measure the impact on sales.
House of Fraser ecommerce manager Jo Kouti told Retail Week that the department store is in the early stages of planning the trial and still considering what type of product videos it will test.
Kouti said: “We will be looking for improved conversions and monitoring the returns on these products to see if video has a positive effect on these factors.”
Kouti said that the Scene7 system it already uses makes the addition of videos to the site very simple. Videos can be uploaded in the flash format, published and linked to specific product pages.
