Corporate finance advisor McQueen has appointed former retail analyst John Richards as a consultant.

Richards, a columnist for Retail Week, was a leading retail equity analyst, working for Deutsche Bank amongst others. Since 2004 he has operated as a consultant.

The firm has also hired Ashish Burman, who will join its retail division. Burman has previously worked for Hawkpoint where he was instrumental in the sale of Hobbs, Jane Norman and Phase Eight. Before joining McQueen, Burman worked at European Capital.

McQueen has also bolstered its food and drink division with the appointment of Garyth Stone and Patrick Mewton from Rabobank’s merger and acquisitions team.

McQueen managing director Clive Baker said: ‘These appointments position the business for significant further growth and are a major step towards achieving our goal of being the advisor of choice in the European consumer sector.’
